arrived in Australia on board the ship Neptune in 1839. James’ wife
was Harriet Poile (abt 1815-1889), both of them were born in Salehurst,

grandfather was Alfred Orson (George) Stonestreet, born Nov. 23, 1882 in
Guestling, East Sussex. He married Rosa Amelia Canham on Dec. 11, 1912 in
York, Ontario, Canada, now Toronto. Rosa was born in Rushmere, Suffolk,
England on April 6, 1875. They met and married in Toronto. Rosa came to
Canada, arriving in Quebec from Liverpool on August 20, 1909. Her parents
were James Canham and Laura Jane Gardiner. My great grandparents on the
Stonestreet side were Alfred Stonestreet and Agnes Tutt. I would like to

Nimrod Stonestreet b1807 who married Mary Mayo, and their daughter Sarah
b1851. She was the first wife of my great-grandfather Amos Winborn and
married him on the 7th May 1869. They had a child James born 1870 and
bpt 27 Mar 1870. Sarah also died 1870 either in childbirth on soon
after, the son James appears to have been an Epileptic and died in the
Hellingly Union Workhouse in 1894.
Peter also has some indirect links
which are, Hans Stonestreet b1807, one son of the infamous Lucy, married
Eleanor Veness, a family the Winborns married into also with Robert
Veness and Elizabeth Winborn, and Ann Stonestreet 1792 married Thomas
Winchester and their son William married Ann Winborn. |

is my G.G.G. grandfather. Adam M (page 57) who married his cousin, Nancy,
is my G.G. grandfather., Their son Andrew (1853-1916) is my G.
Grandfather. Andrew's son, George (1890-1959) is my grandfather. His son,
Wayne Leroy, (1916-1962) is my Dad. I'm Terry Wayne (2-23-1945-??) If you
do a google map of Gifford, IL. Just North of U.S. 136. About 5 miles NE
of me, you'll see the Middlefork Forrest Preserve. It isn't on the map,
but just south of the preserve is the Thomolson Cemetery. This is where
Adam and Nancy are buried. There is also about 17-19 other Stonestreet's
buried in this cemetery. I have a map of the cemetery. The last burial
there was in 1930. It's now protected by the County Forrest Preserve, and
is converted to natural prairie.
All my ancestors back to Elisha are buried within 20 miles of where I
presently live. |
